Seven Days Express Safari


Day 1: Nairobi – Sweetwaters

You will be picked from your hotel and then you will be transferred to Mombasa Airport, Fly to Nairobi for about 45 minutes and arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International airport where you will meet our driver / guide. Depart to Sweetwaters driving a distance of 206 kms. Arrive at around 1.30 pm for check-in and lunch. After lunch, relax till 4.00 pm where you will proceed to an evening game drive till 6.30 pm. Sweetwaters is a private sanctuary which is famously known as Al-pajeta ranch, owned by communities. It covers an area of 90,000 Ha and from here you can easily view Mt Kenya (The highest Mountain in Kenya). Sweetwaters is well known for animal orphanages like Al Moran (this is the black rhino which was shifted from Amboseli in 1974 because the parents were killed by poachers) and chimpanzees (most of them were brought in from Cameroon, Rwanda and Congo forests because they were killed for meat). Physical attractions include Uwaso Nyiro River, plain grassland savannah with Acacia bushes. Animals found in this area include black and white rhinos, reticulated and Masai giraffes, chimpanzees, buffalos, warthogs, lions, cheetahs, impalas, hippos, hyenas and different types of bird species among others. Sweetwaters is attractive for holiday makers, researchers and students from all over the world. It lies directly on the equator line. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters tented camp.

Day 2: Samburu

Wake up at 6.00 am for a full breakfast, visit the chimpanzee sanctuary for one hour and then depart to Samburu National Reserve driving a distance of 170 kms. Arrive at the gate and begin a game drive en route to Samburu Intrepids Camp. Check in at Samburu Intrepids Camp at around 1.30 pm for lunch. Relax till 4.00 pm where you will proceed to an evening game drive till 6.30 pm. Samburu National Reserve is an arid desert covering an area of 392km2. Physical attractions include the dates palm with Acacia forests, Ewaso Nyiro River which flows to Lorian swamps, and mountains among others. Altitude is 3,747 meters above the sea level. Animals found are elephants, lions, buffalos, reticulated giraffes, gravy zebras, bias Oryx, Somali ostriches, cheetahs, and leopards among others. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Intrepids Camp.

Day 3: Samburu

Wake up at 5.30 am for a cup of coffee or tea followed by a morning game drive then back to the camp or lodge for a full breakfast at around 8.30 am. Proceed to another game drive till lunch and relax till 4.00 pm for an evening game drive till 6.30 pm then back to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight. (Samburu Intrepids Camp).

Day 4: Nakuru

Wake up at 6.00 am for a full breakfast; depart to Lake Nakuru National Park with a packed lunch driving a distance of 360 kms with a stopover at Thomson Falls and Subukia Great Rift Valley View point. Take lunch at Thomson falls or at Lake Nakuru after arrival. Arrive at the gate, begin a game drive on the shores of Lake Nakuru. Lake Nakuru is alkaline and home to millions of flamingos and pelicans.

Lake Nakuru covers an area of 202 km2 of which 40 km2 is covered by the soda ash lake. Physical attractions include the euphorbia trees, fever acacia forests and the landscape is a grassland savannah. Most animals seen are white rhinos, lions, Rothschild giraffes, leopards, buffalos, gazelles among others. At 4.00 pm, start an evening game drive till 6.30 pm then back the lodge for dinner and overnight. (Dinner and overnight at Lion Hill Lodge).

Day 5: Masai Mara

Wake up at around 6.00 am for full breakfast. Depart to the world seventh wonder (Masai Mara) driving through a distance of 320 kms. Arrive at around 1.00 pm and make a short game drive en route to the camp or lodge (Mara Serena Lodge) checking in at around 1.30 pm time for lunch. Masai Mara National Reserve has an area of 1,584 km2 and it’s one of the famous and most visited national reserves in Kenya. Physical attractions include Mara River, Talek River, Loita Hills, Serengeti plains and the annual wild beast migration during July to September. The landscape is woodland and grassland savannah with acacia forests. Masai Mara is famous for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetah, gazelles, rhinos, hyenas among others. It’s also attractive for bird watchers and news analysts. Game drive from 4.00 pm till 6.30 pm and back to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight (at Mara Serena Lodge).

Day 6: Masai Mara

Wake up at 5.30 am for a cup of coffee followed by an early morning game drive and back to the camp for a full breakfast. After breakfast proceed for another game drive visiting Mara River for hippos, crocodiles and the migration point of the wild beasts. (There’s another option of proceeding for a game drive with a packed lunch till evening). Dinner and overnight at the Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara - Diani

Wake up at around 5.30 am for a cup of coffee followed by an early morning game drive and back to the camp for a full breakfast. After breakfast, proceed for another game drive. You will drive to Nairobi for lunch at Carnivore Restaurant and then you will take a flight to Diani arriving at around 4.00 pm.
